Steering Committee
The role of the Steering Committee is to serve as a representative for our community and work with
Chicago Cultural Performing Arts & Media Alliance staff to guide and oversee the community.
We know that no single entity or agency can make a community safe, so we are delighted to work with you towards a shared goal of assessing and improving Community for Chicago’s. We ask that you commit to participating in all monthly in-person or Zoom meetings as determined by the Steering Committee and planned around schedules.

Street Outreach
- Canvassing hot spots
- Immediate response to shootings
- Mediate ongoing conflicts
Victim Advocates
- Immediate response to living victims of a shooting and surviving family members of a homicide
- Advocacy with funeral homes, hospitals, and mental health providers
- Long-term trauma support
Case Management

- Reintegrates people into the community post-incarceration
- Addresses risk factors, especially employment, housing, and substance abuse

Spread social awareness among the communities we serve, so that each child gets their primary education, has opportunities when available, mentoring, strong, hard, and soft skills training.

EmpowHer Music events are an excellent opportunity to connect people and create a sense of community. With proper planning and execution, these events can be empowering for everyone involved. From the performers to the attendees, music events have the potential to inspire and uplift.
